How to set up and install a SumUp terminal for Flexybox

Updated today

Flexybox’s Integration with SumUp

Flexybox's integration with SumUp is simple and user-friendly. In Flexybox, you enter some information that determines which SumUp account should receive payments, and then you add the terminal you wish to use. Most of the logic behind the integration is handled by SumUp and their APIs, which makes it easy to set up and use.

Getting Started

Step 1:

    • Here you will find the information needed for the setup in Flexybox. For example, this includes where the money should be sent.

Step 2

  • Create an API Key

    • Hover over Account in the top right corner and select API Keys.

    • Name your API key (the name isn’t important, but you should choose something relevant).

    • Click Create.

Note: Save the API key immediately – it is only shown once!

Step 3

  • Create an Affiliate Key

    • Hover over Account again and select Affiliate Keys.

    • Enter an Application ID – Flexybox recommends: com.flexybox.app

    • You will now see an Affiliate Key, which you can always access and will need later in Flexybox.

Step 4

  • Find Your Merchant ID

    • Hover over Account and select Dashboard.

    • Your Merchant ID is displayed in the top right corner under the company name.

Enter Information in Flexybox

  • Go to System Settings.

  • Click on Integrations.

  • Click on SumUp.

  • Enter the following information in order:

    • API Key

    • Merchant ID

    • Application ID

    • Affiliate Key

  • Click Click here to save and reactivate search.

  • Reopen the window and return to the SumUp section.

Configure Terminals

  • Click Configure.

  • Click Add.

  • Name the terminal so it matches its location or function.

  • Find the Pairing Code on the terminal itself:

    • Swipe down from the top

    • Select Connection

    • Select API

    • Tap Connect

Note:

  1. SumUp terminals become region-locked (and locked to a specific currency) the first time they are paired with a SumUp account. This means that if your SumUp account is, for example, German, the terminal will be locked to only work in Germany.

  2. If the connection fails, try again.

  • Enter the Displayed Pairing Code in Flexybox

  • Select the workstation to which the terminal should be linked.

  • Finish by clicking OK.

The terminal will now display Connected and is ready to use in the POS system.
